VIRGIN ISLAND STUDENTS TO HEAD TO SEVEN WORLD WONDERS
ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Going Against the Grain Peace
Coalition, an organization founded by Daily News Columnist,
Devin “Dutchie” Robinson, announces “The Seven Year
Project.”
Going Against the Grain Peace Coalition will be sending
well-deserving students over the next 7 years to visit
selected Seven World Wonders. When asked of the details of
this project, its founder Devin “Dutchie” Robinson stated,
“I believe that my success abroad as an adult comes from my
parents investing in my travels as a youth. However, not all
parents of well-deserving students can afford to, so I have
committed, over the next 7 years, to finding these
well-deserving students and send them on excursions abroad.”
The project will require students to read one book selected
by the coalition. Upon reading the book, students must
submit a comprehensive essay on the book by the deadline to
qualify for the excursion abroad. Once the winner is
selected, the student, along with 1 guardian and their
favorite teacher, will be sent on the trip over the summer.
This project is for actively enrolled high schoolers in
public or private school in the St. Thomas/St. John district
and St. Croix district.
Stop the Bleeding founder and 2nd Lady of the Virgin
Islands, Cheryl Francis, had this to say, "I fully
support the efforts of Going Against the Grain and in
particular, this project. Anything that contributes to our
youth getting exposure, seeing where their potential can
take them and getting growth from outside their immediate
surroundings is a great thing."
Some of the Seven World Wonders expected to visit are, the
Grand Canyon, Great Wall of China and Taj Mahal. "This
project is destined to change the minds of our youth and
prepare them for the world!" said Janet Brow, District
Director for School Community Relations.
Robinson sees this as a huge win for all participants,
parents and the entire community. He closed by saying,
“Failure is running rampant among the teens of our
territory. These drastic statistics call for drastic
commitment! I have committed to 7 years because 7 is the
number of completion. With the support of the community we
can complete this project. Our hope is the impact of the
students’ experience will be shared with their peers.”

MEDIA ALERT!
DEVIN “DUTCHIE” ROBINSON & GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN PEACE
COALITION CALLS FOR A CEASE FIRE.
St. Thomas, Virgin islands – December 22, 2010
Daily News Columnist, Author, Professor, Community
Activist and Founder of the Going Against the Grain Peace
Coalition, Devin “Dutchie” Robinson, calls for a
territory-wide cease fire for New Year’s Eve.
Devin “Dutchie”
Robinson has sent out a call for action to community
leaders, pastors, and law enforcement to establish a strong
presence throughout the Virgin Islands territory during Old
Year’s night in order to deter the firing of guns into the
air by neighborhood villains celebrating New Year’s. When
asked why he is placing focus on this, he said “This has
been happening so long that our residents have come to
expect this reckless behavior. However, it is dangerous to
have bullets sailing around in our skies while families are
moving about the community returning from church or
attending gatherings.”
Robinson has been a strong opponent of criminal behavior for
the past several years. He is the founder of the Going
Against the Grain Peace Coalition, which launched public
“Peace Walks” throughout the territory in August 2009. He
went on to say, “It is time for us to take actions! We
must stop giving these criminals a platform to display their
criminal acts. A stronger police presence can help deter
their behavior and help to identify and retrieve illegal
weapons in our territory. This activity holds our citizens
hostage and forces us to accept this dysfunction as the
norm.”
Going Against the Grain Peace Coalition has sent emails and
letters to the clergy community asking them to encourage
their members to be bold and report any criminal behavior
they witness and to law enforcement asking them to beef up
their patrols.
